The photo was taken a few months ago, in a small mountain pass. One of the first things that I noticed when I looked at the trees were their roots, which seemed to stretch on a wide surface, almost like they will soon start to walk (they reminded me of Tolkien's Ents). Since I decided to go for a more 'confusing' angle when I took the photo, I thought that the 'colour madness' might be a good idea; it also helped to minimize the distractions from the ground - especially the litter that was more obvious than the trees.
