One of our sightseeing trips took us to Nusfalau, in Salaj county. I found some references to a Banffy castle here, though quite vague, it definitively seemed like a trip we didn't want to miss.
We had no clue where the castle was in Nusfalau, hence we hand to stop and ask for questions when we arrived. Surprisingly, the first person was able to tell us everything we wanted to know - he even told us about a hunting chalet in the mountain, but the road was a bit too much for our city Volvo. It wasn't just the castle, there was an entire complex of buildings belonging to the residence, like the servants mansion, or the stables.
After a few turns on the small streets, we reached the castle gates only to find out that they were closed. The castle was still in use, at least partially, by the local dentist.
As we were scouting the area, we located two more buildings, one of which was probably the servants mansion; since we had no guide, their role together with their history remains unknown.
In the photo you can see one of these 'unidentified' buildings; I think it served as a stable, or warehouse - since it doesn't look much like a residence.
