It's been some time my last post, but I won't complain about the lack of time or anything like that. I'm thinking about making a couple of changes to the blog; this might also include moving away from Mephisto.

Mephisto is a wonderful choice if all you want is a simple blog, but whenever you try to move a bit further - it still lacks a lot. I have been working a lot with Drupal lately and as confusing as it seemed at first, I'm really happy with it now. I know it's wrong to compare the two, Mephisto is more of a blogging platform while Drupal is a full blown content management system.

With Mephisto, I've been quite disappointed about the allowed level of customizations. It is very fast and provides a wonderful caching mechanism - but there are some simple things that really drag you back a lot. For example, I wasn't able to find a way of including a meta tag only on the archive pages (for search engine optimization). I know that you can exclude certain URLs from search engines by using robots.txt, but you can't use something like "noindex, follow" there.

I'll have to study the situation more before taking a decission.
