A few months ago, during a visit to the Corvin's Castle (Hunedoara) I had the pleasure of assisting to a wonderful medieval performance. In the spotlight there were two groups, "Hunedoara Knight's Order" and "Media? Knight's Order" which delighted the spectators with medieval fights, dances or various other acts. Everything looked amazing - the castle, before only a cold block of rock, suddenly revived and shined with it's lost glory.
As I was taking photos, one of the knights started talking with me. He told me more details about the order (he was part of the Hunedoara order) - how they started and what exactly they did. I was quite surprised to learn that they always try to forge the weapons and armour in the old fashion, a very long and tedious process. He was actually using a genuine 16th century ceremonial sword - which was really a jewel.
Later I met another knight, this time from the Medias Knight's Order (photo).
From time to time, we need to give up to the reins of reality and just let our imagination follow its path. It can only lead us to wonderful places, far, far away.
