Yesterday, on my way to work, a young man stops me and asks, "do you speak English?". Oh, somebody is in need of directions, I say to myself and reply with "Yes". The stranger, with a very innocent look in his eyes and a brief smile on his face, asks "Do I look drunk?".

Maybe I should mention that he was eating chips with one hand and drinking some natural juice with the other, all of this while walking. Somebody really needed to get sober this morning. Undecided whether to be ironic or honest, I go for both "No, not at all" and smile back to him.

He winks his eye, takes another chip and goes away.
