The First Ride Is Always Free

The First Ride Is Always Free

A wrinkled man, with a funny hat and long beard, shouts - "Step in, don't be afraid - the first ride is always free." Rising his eyes in attention, the boy runs to the man and demands a free ride.

A child sees a carousel as a magical device - a source of endless joy and excitement. For an adult, the carousel is a reminder of their cage - you get to taste the freedom, but you're never going anywhere.

After a few hours, tired, and upset, the boy shouts - "I want to get off!". The old man, winks his left eye in a wicked fashion and replies - "You can't get off the carousel, young one; it's your life, better enjoy the ride".
