A Problem of Verticality

A Problem of Verticality

Taken at Bon?ida Banffy Castle. This time I tried something a bit different and didn't focus on the main building. The tower appears to be quite old and in a very poor state, yet the adjacent building is an a perfect condition (it cannot be seen in this photograph; the window from the far background is actually from the main building).

It was a rainy night ...

It was a rainy night ...

Usually it takes me a few days, weeks or months before I publish a photo. One of my literature teachers from the primary school advised us to always read our compositions again the next day, because in this way we'll spot errors that might not seem so obvious at first.

"The Divine Child", by Pascal Bruckner

Pascal Bruckner never ceases to surprise me. "The Divine Child" is the story of a mother-to-be, that believes the unborn children have too much spare time on their hands; time is one of the most valuable things in the world and babies are basically wasting all this time sitting and being little dummies.

Flickr API, Javascript and Windows Desktop

Lately I've came across a very underrated feature of Microsoft Windows, the ability to use an HTML page as a desktop wallpaper. When I've first seen this feature (I think it was in Windows 98 or Windows 95) it seemed very odd and pointless. Those were the times when web pages were seen as a dangerous ground, especially those that contained some form of scripting.

Morning Visitor

Morning Visitor

But tomorrow, dawn will come the way I picture her,
barefoot and dishevelled, standing outside my window
in one of the fragile cotton dresses of the poor.
She will look in at me with her thin arms extended,
offering a handful of birdsong and a small cup of light.
