One of our sightseeing trips took us to Nusfalau, in Salaj county. I found some references to a Banffy castle here, though quite vague, it definitively seemed like a trip we didn't want to miss.

I always liked those kinds of photos where there is a human subject, yet no identity; this can be done by photographing the subject from the back, from the side or even photographing them from the front with a lot of light coming from their back (note to self: I'll have to try this as well). Maybe it's just me, but an anonymous subject brings mystery - and mystery is always nice to have.

I took this photograph in one of those circumstances when you go to shoot something specific, but then find something else which gets your attention. This photograph was taken one the stairs to an old castle (maybe I'll post some photos with it later) - as we were returning from our visit, I noticed this snail shell on the ground.

Bánffy Castle from Bon?ida is an architectonic monument built by the Bánffy family at Bon?ida, in Cluj county.

The Haller Castle from Coplean, Cluj, Romania was built between 1721-1771, designed in a baroque style. Forgotten for decades, it currently stands on the verge of collapse.

The photo was taken a few months ago, in a small mountain pass. One of the first things that I noticed when I looked at the trees were their roots, which seemed to stretch on a wide surface, almost like they will soon start to walk (they reminded me of Tolkien's Ents).
